This past Sunday Cornerstone Baptist Church in Hartsville South Carolina was proud to host the group Commandment 11. These two guys came out and performed an awesome show for us. The music was up-lifting, up-beat and worshipful. The lyrics, OUTSTANDING, really carried the message of the gospel, the encouragement to keep running the race, and the heart of the writers. These two guys, Scott Jacobs and Philip Robinson are not only great guys but they are truly dedicated to the cause for which they sing; the cause of the Kingdom of Christ.
I was priviledged to sit down with the guys over lunch and just spend time fellowshipping with them before they headed back home. The impression that I am left with is that these guys are the real deal. They are both committed to the gospel message. They both have a desire to see souls won for Christ, and they both go beyond mere words and put their faith into action.
In existence as Commandment 11 for 7 years these guys travel around the country with a very special purpose, that of ministering to those in our prison system and in rehab centers around the country. In fact, this is their primary ministry and calling, delivering the gospel in places where to few of us are willing to go. I would give them both an overwhelming recommendation.
I enjoyed the music so much that I did something that I do not normally do; I bought a couple of CD's. I must be frankly honest and say that the CD's are awesome as well. My wife and I have taken the two CD's and split them between our cars. Currently I have the CD entitled "Devotions" in my car and have been blown away by a couple of the songs in particular. "Orphan" and "Take up Your Cross" are two of the best, they are all good, but these two have spoken to me.
I hope that you will take time to give these guys a listen, and beyond that, you will help them by supporting their ministry. God Bless.
And that is my View from the Corner...
